TNA vs WWE...Monday Night War, Massacre?

January 13th 2010 03:36
Editors Note: This was posted on another site, adding new ones as we speak.

It's not long now and TNA will air it's very first live imPACT! on Monday Night January 4th 2010, it marks the supposed "start of a war" but is it going to be a war or a massacre? 1996 saw an event that no one saw coming the start of the rise of WCW to preveil over the WWE for well over a year, now Hulk Hogan hopes to bring TNA into a brand new level.

A lot have already declared the proposed war as being a massacre of TNA, and the Hogan/Bischoff partnership being nothing but two massive egos seeking attention by the wrestling world again. TNA does not yet have that big name draw, they have some names coming to the end of thier careers (Sting, and Steiner, possibly even Nash) they do have Angle, but he's not a massive draw, nor is Jarrett, to be perfectly honest.

WWE is a world wide brand, and has men that people are all flocking to see, whereas TNA are mainly a bunch of indy guys with a few former WWE/WCW/ECW guys as per the Spike TV order "get well known names into the company!" thus comes Hogan. Hogan brings his name, his reputation and knowledge of the business, Eric Bischoff obviously brings the business knowledge and a fair bit of creativity.

TNA appears to be looking to raise the bar as far as the company goes, and who can blame them? They hae been motoring along without taking a leap forward. Now they have a massive billboard in Times Square, they have their first Monday Night Show, landed a big name in Hogan, yes I know he's past it as far as wrestling ability goes, but wouldnt you want to have a Hogan phoning up possible names about coming into the company?

TNA needs to get out of Florida and get into some bigger arenas more often, forget getting guys who are past thier prime look at a few names that still have a lot to offer. Rob Van Dam, Ken Anderson, and then they can add Kendrick, London to their expanding X Divisio.

TNA's X Division needs to be their focus, it's the main thing that seperates them from the WWE right now. Williams, London, Super Crazy could be good additions to that. The Knockouts Division could be good too if they can strike up a working relationship with Shimmer.

It won't bring them to the top yet, but get some storylines going, tour more outside of their home base, and they can start their climb. TNA won't beat Monday Night in their first battle, if they get over 2.0 they would be doing well.

It will only be a massacre if TNA fails to improve storylines, bring in decent guys not old guys who once had a name but aren't any good anymore, you know the ones....the guys that follow Hogan around and kiss upto him. Another plan is to fire Russo, it seems Russo is all but gone anyway let's make it official.

He's a cancer on the wrestling business.
