The Richter Scale: TNA vs WWE
April 12th 2010 03:25
The Monday Night Wars has not yet been a real war yet, TNA has not yet fired a real shot, even though both sides are making their own childish comments about each other, it's more a fight that is being fought not in good television show, no it's a battle on the school yard. But with Vince and Eric battling did we ever think we were going to see some maturity? Of course not. While WWE continues to get good ratings, TNA doesn't and every WWE mark is sitting there laughing, well for wrestling this is not a laughing matter, TNA marks are making their own silly statements, and the real wrestling fan is watching both and picking them apart, and I am going to do the same.
How surprising is it that the only two people on this planet to love the Orlando Jordan angle are Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo? No I am not alluding to them being homosexuals, just they both have moronic ideas. Now Orlando thinks that he can make a difference in the world with his angle, I am sorry Orlando no one likes you as a wrestler and no one in the world takes you seriously, maybe a memo from Warrior will change your mind about this angle.
I was surprised that the WWE has passed the title from Jericho to Swagger, I should also add I am saddened, I do not think that Swagger is at all a marketable champion, though I guess it's not the first time someone has thought a guy with a speech impediment was marketable, but the sad reality for Swagger is, he's just not entertaining on the mic, when you can understand a damn word he says it's nothing but incoherent rambling. It makes me wonder how long until the WWE would have put the title on Matt Morgan, remember Sargent Stutter? Yeah, he's over in TNA now still crap on the mix, and mildly better in the ring, but the stutter is gone, he's just boring now.
What do he and Swagger have in common? Personalities of a plank, but one's on Smackdown, the other, barely gets mic time, just once in awhile, well that's about as much as I pay attention to Matt Morgan, so it could be more, who knows? I certainly ignore him when I can. In the age of ratings and having marketable champions neither are going to be big draws, I expect the title to jump either back to Jericho, or to Edge, at Extreme Rules, seems the obvious choice, while Punk would be a chance he's in a feud with Rey, and maybe soon Darren Young, it may give Young a much needed leg up into the main roster.
So what have I learned in the nearly four Months of the Monday Night Wars? Neither the WWE or TNA are great, both are watchable either drunk, or stoned, which I think is how they are booked. TNA makes more sense drunk, and being on a Saturday Night I am usually intoxicated after a day of football now and when I watch TNA I see Orlando Jordan, and cannot help but laugh. You'd laugh too if you were sitting at home, drinking and you see a guy covering himself in, whatever the hell he's covering himself in, I noticed he was drinking it as well, so maybe it was a collection taken up by the TNA lockerroom. What? I didn't mean that, you dirty minded people.
I am glad I do not book TNA, I do not think I could lower my intelligence that low to actually stomach the decisions they are making, I have to say 10 years ago an ECW stable would have been awesome though a stable could still be good but I would change something's...
I would add Super Crazy, E.Z. Money, Little Guido/Nunzio to the list, the TNA X Division needs some more guys now I would add Kid Kash, but at last I had heard he was trying to be an MMA fighter, and Jerry Lynn is practically retired from the business so he would not apart of it.But who would lead this stable? Well who did Etic recently "fire"? That's right Mick Foley, channeling Cactus Jack, and with Tommy Dreamer apart of it, why not?
It makes sense, Foley was "fired" by Eric, he has a grudge against TNA, he punched out Bubba, and don't forget going back to his days in ECW and WCW how much heat he got from guys like Flair for spitting on the WCW Title he was holding at the time, sure it was in a storyline to further a feud with Sabu and such but he got heat from WCW over it. So Mick comes back and he has a beef with TNA and he has some friends, that are worked into this storyline, hell, you can even use Taz.
But that is a blog for another time, at this moment TNA are toying with the idea, There are some ideas there that TNA can use, I wonder if TNA are going to start making the right decisions and stop booking crap? The sad thing is TNA has talent, just has shit storylines, and a pair of shit writers.
