OdysseyWWE Smackdown! (August 10) thoughts

Another ho-hum ep of Smackdown! this week. The crowd were hot throughout which was good, but the show on a whole, was quite poor.
I don't care what anyone says, I reckon Khali is great as champ. It would've been better if they had him take the belt off Cena though (rather than have Cena get clean wins over him straight away). His little translator buddy is warming on me too. Hopefully he doesn't drop the belt to Batista at Summerslam-- I'd like to see his run last for a while longer.
Even though I picked it from the start, the Chavo-dressed-as-Rey segment was still a lot of fun. Chavo's accent was hilarious! He is on such a role right now, I'm really enjoying his stuff. Hopefully they don't just make him a jobber again once the Rey feud ends, although I suspect that they will. Chavo/Eugene was a passable match-- I actually thought Eugene may have been winning at one point.
Pairing Yang/Torrie and Dykstra/Victoria is just totally random. Dykstra being Victoria's cornerperson (complete with spit-bucket) was pretty funny though. And Michelle McCool is hot! I laughed at JBL's line in the match where he said something like "Michelle is doing what hot blonde women are supposed to do-- clean house". Damn, I love JBL on commentary!!
Hardy/Finlay was ok, but nothing we haven't seen before. Another hot five minutes and a pinfall ending (as opposed to a countout which WWE seem to be overusing in recent times) would've made it much better. The hyjinks with Finlay, Noble, Horsnswoggle, Funaki, Moore and Kane was fun to watch though. But like I said last week-- Funaki and Shannon Moore are the last people to be making fun of Noble for losing!
So I'm guessing Sylvan's rumoured push won't be happening. I wouldn't be surprised if he's sent packing alongside his former La Resistance teammates soon. A push doesn't seem too likely if they're jobbing him out like that. Kane has been pretty awesome lately though, and a feud between him and Finlay should be really good.
It looked like they were going somewhere interesting with the Masterlock segment with that convicted-for-manslaughter-guy (I thought they were debuting a new character), but it turned out to be just another pointless Masterlock Challenge. Why are they even still doing that when it has been broken?!
I thought they did a great job all night building up to Flair/Khali, but the match was a bit of a letdown. I obviously wasn't expecting it to be great, but some more Flair offense would've been nice. I love Khali using the claw as a finisher though! And in the last two weeks, they've got that move over big-time!! The references to all the other wrestlers who used the claw (most notably, the Von Erichs), was really good too.

IF YOU MISSED IT: No need to catch the replay for this one; nothing that memorable really happened. If you were to watch one segment from it though, make it the Chavo one which was really good (especially when the crowd all realize it's him and start booing him unmercifully.)
