Random WWE Elimination Chamber Thoughts

February 23rd 2010 15:44
The chamber was not overly bad as a PPV, you take aside the predictability of some of the matches, which I guess after being a fan of the wrestling for so long and not getting swept up in the storyline aspect you are going to find predictable outcomes everywhere in the WWE and even wrestling in general. In a few years TNA, should they survive will be predictable too, right now their booking has a few plot holes here and there. Smackdown's Elimination Chamber was the best of the night, Kofi Kingston kept looking back a bit of a teaser from last time when he was attacked. and unable to compete, maybe a little dig at people's predictions as well of him being attacked.

I admit I expected that he was going to be sent out of the chamber again, by Batista, Cena won the title and then lost it to Batista, thanks to Vince who decided that Cena should face the wrath of Batista. Now seems to be a clash at Wrestlemania for the title, unless the WWE does an angle that sees Cena taking some time off which he was meant to.

Drew retained his Intercontinental Title against Kane, it was not as if it was not expected could have given Kane a massive boost by almost winning but having Drew steal the win somehow helping both but Drew's push is on track, possible WWE Heavyweight Champion by the end of the year, there's a lot of Triple H in Drew, the small body build maybe a bulk up Triple H style is on, hopefully he nose doesn't grow...that'd be freaky. I have to admit that the changing of the Divas title match to a tag team match was a surprise, but having Vickie on a PPV was just downright annoying, I get that she's meant to be, but this wasn't Smackdown I actually had to pay to be annoyed, whereas Smackdown I don't. Anyway Team Ley Cool won in a match I forgot ever happened, honestly I did.

The Miz again faced and beat MVP, what can I say? The Miz is awesome, sadly for MVP I do not see a future for him in the WWE as much more than a jobber, and a midcarder floundering with Mark Henry, who still amazingly has a job. I will never like Mark Henry and it won't start here in this blog either, MVP has talent, charisma, and once had a push, but when you piss off WWE Management you are committing career suicide, Brian Kendrick can tell you that, well he did this on purpose but you can see where I am going here. I expect by the end of the year MVP will be told they wish him well and release him. MVP will then in 90 days appear in TNA, I even have the name for him as well. Montel Antonio Banks, taking his WWE name and his Indy name and putting them together and you have a name, no? Hey I tried.

The Smackdown Elimination Chamber had all participants enter without anyone coming into the match, my prediction was that WWE were going to run with the ankle injury, they still did but Morrison actually competed, Undertaker was almost badly burnt by his pyro, it made us watch him run to the ring, probably the worst night of his life burnt, losing his title, and running to the ring. Luckily it was nothing worse than a sunburn, but Taker was still pissed off, and we got to the chamber, I am loving CM Punk as he was placed into the chamber he made sure to give us a surman, and JC Punk gave us another as R-Truth exited, shame that he would be sent packing by Rey after a good battle, Morrison and Rey had a good display as well, with Jericho in there it was an exciting match, Morrison made sure to sell that ankle when he kicked the Undertaker's head into the crowd...well almost into the crowd.

Once Morrison and Rey were gone, Jericho was left, and to round out the night HBK snuck into the cage and super kicked The Undertaker costing him the title and giving the win to Chris Jericho sending him to Wrestlemania now to face Edge, in a match I am looking forward to, once I heard Batista was champion and watching the encore today I still have nightmares of the knowledge of seeing a Wrestlemania match. Supposedly Bret Hart will be saying goodbye to the WWE, again, next week. After “breaking” his leg last week, in a segment riddled with some horrible acting people still found the time to call the Midwest Ambulance service and checked for an update, of course they have in turn asked for people to call the WWE to ask.

So if you are concerned about Bret's “broken leg” please hold off on calling Midwest, every time they are flooded with calls from the wrestling public there is someone who is in serious need that is getting a line busy message when they should be getting help. WWE.com and Raw, Smackdown, and Superstars will keep you updated, if you see a magic recovery at Wrestlemania just pretend your Hulkamania Vitamins really work.
In all seriousness, I have been hearing that Bret's going to be a chance of a Title at Wrestlemania, and you thought the match between he and Vince McMahon was a bad idea, WWE comes out with this possible change. But we are talking Elimination Chamber, or at least we were I got sidetracked again.

So the PPV had a few turns that I expected, Batista still managed to walk away as champion as I had expected, I thought maybe we were going to see a different route, but Cena was a surprising winner of the Chamber I did expect to see the WWE have Batista ruin his chances somehow but the addition of Vince MaMahon came a bit later then I did indeed expect. Again just because wrestling can be predictable doesn't mean you cannot enjoy it, because sometimes the predictability is the most logical in the storylines.

Take Cena winning for example, it made sense for Batista to then take the title from him with the help of Vince McMahon, I am not sure that is a good idea, but they were building to this and now you have it in effect, I do still think Randy Orton is turning face, with a chance of a full heel run singles run for Ted, and a vanishing for a bit for Cody, well maybe all three will battle at Wrestlemania. I would imagine that Shaemus will be in the Money In The Bank, I do not imagine that the WWE are going to relax his push, I reckon they will build him up into a bigger draw for the next Wrestlemania.

I am looking forward to Wrestlemania just to see Jericho and Edge for the most part, I am not sure I am ready for HBK/Taker II or Batista/Cena...well I am not sure how many times they have battled but they can battle without the belt, the belt could have gone to either Randy or Triple H, or something like that. I am just not a fan of Cena right now in his current form, I think he could be a good heel with a better array of moves and could be a better wrestler than the WWE currently has him. I know it is common place to bag Cena and I do it a lot, because I am just bored with Cena. Batista bores me as well, both as a performer and a microphone worker.

Charisma and ability has never been in the blood of Batista and if they really want him to be an animal, just allow him to rip people apart, he doesn't need to speak. How about now with McMahon he could be the voice behind the beast, remember back when Lesnar was in the WWE? He had Heyman. Lashley was horrible on the microphone as well, even now he is but luckily he's apparently gone, or somerhing no one really knows.

I'd assume many just don't care, but Batista does need someone speaking for him or just battles people and breaks them and allows his actions to do the talking I think it may make some sense there.

But there are my random thoughts of the Chamber, and other stuff, I am not one to post full results of a PPV, but that was just some random idea's I had.
