Ken Anderson, did he commit career suicide?

February 12th 2010 15:29
Ken Anderson's departure from the WWE came as a surprise as he was said to have been released because of chronic injury that was plaguing him while he was with the WWE. Anderson would soon post a video showing that any wrist problems were completely untrue. It did seem to be a weird decision for the WWE to release Anderson, but Anderson was future linked with TNA for months and months before he headed to Australia apart of Hogan's Wrestling tour. Some would say tht Ken wasn't at his best in some of the matches he had in Australia. But that very well could have been the ring rust he was working out the Hulkamania tour was a bomb, but now that Hogan is in TNA Anderson came into the company and now some have been talking about whether or not this was going to be a mistake for Anderson.

I am expecting to see TNA use Anderson in a higher profile role within the company, since he has entered as "the chosen one" he has been saying, it would see that Ken Anderson will be made the next upper mid card type that will possibly battle Angle, and Wolfe for the chance to bring down the World Champion AJ Styles. I am keen to see how TNA are going to book the 8 Card Stud Tournament the winner of the tournament at Against All Odds is going to face AJ Styles inside a steel cage at Lockdown.

Hernandez appears to be on the way up in TNA after being released previously when he was with the Elite Guard in 2005, when he returned with Homicide in LAX we have seen the steady progress of Hernandez. Matt Morgan too has had a steady rise in TNA he is mildly better then he ever was in WWE, working harder on his mic work his early TNA mic work still reeked but it has gotten better.

TNA also has the possibility of using Jeff Hardy as a main event player, one of the most popular men at the moment he is on his way back to TNA with Shannon Moore it would make sense to capitalise on the popularity he has by adding him higher up the card, possibly even an early feud with Anderson maybe, costing him his shot at AJ Styles, and having them do battle, or even throwing him in against Desmond Wolfe,or someone like that.

But before I go off the topic at hand, I think Anderson has been granted a great second chance one where he can be a break through star with TNA, be able to help launch TNA's Monday Night War, he has a chance to be a name that people remember that got TNA out of just plodding along to breaking through into the roof and making themselves World Wide.

He has the charisma, and has the talent to be a major player in a major wrestling promotion, he came close to being that in the WWE before the suspension, and the injury and the release from the company. Anderson has probably also been a bit of his worst enemy as well in his time in the WWE. If he keeps himself out of trouble, and can go without getting injured, the sky is the limit in TNA.

He is one of few I can see breaking out and being pushed towards the TNA Word Heavyweight title this year, Desmond Wolfe being the first one that comes to mind when I think about this. TNA has been pushing him for weeks now he's been around the title picture since his match against Angle and I would imagine that there is a chance he can carry a World Title. He too has a lot of charisma, has a lot of ability and just needs TNA to make sure they use him correctly.

Anderson also has the same worry from me here, I worry that TNA are going to have someone screw this up. I am not an anti-TNA person, I do not sit there and thrive to point out TNA's screw ups, if I was, I'd be here all week posting blogs about every stupid move, stupid idea, stupid storyline, misused star, forgotten star, and everything else. I am here blogging about Anderson and my main fear is, TNA are going to drop the ball. TNA are WCW in too many ways they make too many mistakes that should never be done.

Just for the record WWE has dropped the ball many times over their time too, but Ken Anderson is working with TNA not WWE, and WWE is irrelevant to this blog. WCW however does have relevance because the same men that were in charge of WCW's creative direction, and talent development are all now in TNA making exactly the same mistakes in TNA they did in WCW. Less Hogan, and Bischoff would be nice, but I guess we are going to have to wait until the Monday Night Wars start again to see if there are more silly moves.

But no Anderson has not committed career suicide not yet anyway, I think that his TNA run so far has been handled pretty well, minus the attack by Abyss, but Abyss needed to get his revenge there on Anderson for the brass knucks to the head at the PPV.

I went off on a little semi-rant about WCW's failings, TNAs failings which can be seen as being a bitterly disappointed WCW fan, a frustrated fan of what TNA has that they are trying to make a dogs breakfast out of and just drive me to want to scream and go off on these rants, and hope that someone from TNA actually reads this and realises that they do have a lot of work to make TNA the best, driving their fans insane with ineptitude is not a good way to go about this.

Until TNA starts taking notice, and believe me I will start ranting about some of the decisions WWE makes that irritates me, I will be blogging them as well until they too take notice and fix it. In gaining new fans, TNA, you may end up alienating those that were there from the start.

Oh, and Miiiiiiiisssssttttteeeeeerrrr rrr Anderson, Anderson.

I feel better now.
