Destination X: Pre-PPV Thoughts

March 21st 2010 14:05
Destination X is almost upon us, and I am sure there are some people that are wondering why the PPV was not fully X Division, well I can answer that for you right now. The TNA X Division was never going to be a massive PPV draw, and I am sure that the officials at TNA had already seen this and I am sure you also know that TNA's X Division also does not have a weight limit to therefore it's still considered that anyway. But you have a ladder match for the Number One Contendership for the TNA X Division Title you see Daniels, Kazarian, Amazing Red, and Brian Kendrick all in a match on no PPV will you ever see this again, unless all these men worked for Dragongate USA.

Shannon Moore makes his in ring return facing Doug Williams for the X Division Title, this is another match that should be good, Moore is a very good worker and Doug Williams has already established that he is a good worker as well, sure he is carrying a bit more weight then he would usually have, but he has still got the work behind him.

The return of Ulitmate X sees Generation Me, face the Motorcity Machinegunes the winner will face the winner of the Hernandez/Morgan vs Beer Money Inc match two good matches, Tag Team wrestling is very much highlighted on this PPV, you are also seeing Waltman and Hall facing Nash and Young for Waltman and Halls careers in TNA.

Daffney has her shot at the TNA Women's Knockout Championship at the PPV against Tara, well let's just have a look at the information for the PPV...

So the PPV does lack a bit of Grade A talent, well apart from Angle and Anderson, I would have liked to have seen maybe Rob Van Dam at the PPV as well as Hardy in maybe a TNA Global Championship Contenders match or something, you still have Dinero missing, and a few orther X Division Stars, now with the Ultimate X unless there is a massive swing at the PPV with Lethal Consequences added to the Ultimate X Match, or Rob Van Dam & Hardy added, or just someone else. I wonder if TNA are going to try and pull any surprises here, wouldn't it be funny to see Goldberg one night only just come out and screw Scott Hall? Remember back to Starrcade 1999?

But no I do not want to see Goldberg in TNA, Tommy Dreamer making an appearance tagging with Raven? Nah, never going to happen, well not at this PPV anyway I do not think TNA has any future plans for Raven right now which is a shame you throw him on the microhpone as I have said you have yourself a talented worker. I would love to see Daffney win the Knockout's Title, but I doubt this is going to happen either, but the PPV does look good in parts, but there is still something missing, the big names of the X Division, TNA could bring back Bentley, Williams, Dutt, or bring in some other names there and have the X Division firing.

This is again what makes TNA an annoying company they still are not pressing with what makes them the X Division and the Knockouts Division and they are just not making stars and that is just disappointing. I have a feeling there are going to be title changes I have a feeling it will be the TNA Tag Team Titles, and the X Division Title with the rest remaining where they are, unless the company is going to switch the title from AJ Styles to Abyss with someone costing AJ Styles the match, Jeff Hardy now that his court case has been put off until May can actually do some more work and apparently will be working selected dates with the company.

Rob Van Dam is meant to be working full time in the rign in April, but hasn't he already had his in ring debut? Oh right no one wants to remember the 12 second squash of Sting, not even Sting I would imagine. But back onto the PPV I think that the Tag Team Ulitmate X match, the ladder match are going to be the matches that make the PPV, Anderson and Angle is going to be a good match, there are a few others that I am just not sure about.

This PPV is really going to show waht TNA is made of, well after the two disappointing ratings, the saga with Bubba The Love Sponge, and Kong, and now TNA are going to need to start to show something I am suer they are not going to make a massive leap into getting bigger ratings but they need to start to make the shows less centred around Hogan and Bischoff....but that's for a blog for another time, at the moment we are talking about the current PPV and I think the PPV needs a Super Crazy, Justin Liger, Psicosis, or just someone with a high profile name to come along, some people have been talking about seeing Jerry Lynn I doubt you are ever goiing to see Lynn back in TNA as a wrestler.

Though a Lynn/RVD match for a major title could be very interesting, it is the only fitting way I would like to see these two end a long series of matches that have never been put into a the main event on a PPv. Rob Van Dam and Lynn had some awesome ECW Battles and these battles could have been great for the ECW belt. But alas it appears that Lynns days in the major spotlight are gone, but we are going to see Dinero battle AJ next month, and some other interesting cage matches, the return of Six Sided ring perhaps? It's a must right?

The start time of the PPV in this blog is the Australian start time, of course, I would suggest you all check your local listings for times, Wrestling Asylum will be opening up The Squared Circle for PPV results as of Tomorrow this is in partnership with the forum The Animal Enclosure, if you want to chat with other wrestling fans about this ppv cclick here

You are going to need to register a username, and if you tell them that Maj has sent you, you are going to be well taken care of. I will be back with my post PPV thoughts, and the opening of The Squared Circle which is also located by clicking here
