The Championship Review
In this blog, I'll be reviewing the current male championships in the WWE, (because I don't really follow the Women's champisonships, somewhat embarrassingly....) in the lead-up to Elimination Chamber, and the grand daddy of them all, Wrestlemania.
WWE Championship
Sheamus
Sheamus won the title at TLC, in a Tables Match against John Cena, shocking, well, everybody. The WWE failed to follow up well on it, and made Sheamus look weak, and John Cena dominate. Then Randy Orton came in the picture, John Cena had back problems and floated out of the feud. This is where Sheamus was starting to look stronger, given more mic time, and his kick made to look very dangerous. But still, maybe not enough, in the lead-up to the Royal Rumble, and a match with Orton, he was made interesting as well, an important component for any Champ. At the Royal Rumble, Sheamus was made to look like he could hang in there with Orton, and looked like he may win, until Legacy came down, and attacked him, causing him to win by Disqualification, setting the scene for Orton to beat up Legacy, an Sheamus to hit Orton with a sneak Kick. In the following weeks after the Rumble, he has made to look strong, and is in the Elimination Chamber match to defend his Championship, to decide whether he goes to Wrestlemania or not.
Rating: 7.5
World Heavyweight Championship
Undertaker
The Phenom, The Deadman, The Undertaker, is again the top of the class that is SmackDown, but is it a good thing? He has hardly done anything of note with it, he has beaten Batista, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk (comment if I'm forgetting anybody) and in Punk's case, made him look weak. I am sick of his run, and believe he shouldn't have the title anymore, because in 'kayfabe' he is meant to be The Deadman, with mysterious powers etc. I would love for Edge or Jericho to defeat the Deadman and go onto face him. The whole title run has been a shambles in my opinion, with the whole T Lo good bad good angle and everything.
Rating: 5
United States Championship
The Miz
The US Championship has come out of the woodwork lately, with the Brash and cocky loudmouth known as The Miz as it's holder. With mic time, and solid matches, it has grown in stature, and now The Miz's feud with MVP has heated up, leaving this championship in a good position that it has not seen since, in my opinion, late 2007 when MVP and Matt Hardy were fighting for it. The Miz is perfect for this at the moment, and could be the push he needs for stardom.
Rating: 7.5
Intercontinental Championship
Drew McIntyre
Drew and John Morrison are currently feuding over the title, and have had a good rivalry so far. In my opinion, Drew has been built up well, as ‘hand picked by Vince McMahon’, and they have followed it up, and made him look relatively strong. I think this feud could elevate both men, and give them a platform to stand on, with the top level stars, which is one of the strong points in the WWE right now, and especially SmackDown.

ECW Championship
Ezekiel Jackson
So now that ECW has officially ended, it’s not sure what will happen to this, but I will review it anyway. Christian held this for quite a while, and had good feuds with Tommy Dreamer and William Regal, as well as matches with Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder, Zeke and many others, giving them a chance to wrestle in a championship match. Zeke is worthy of winning it on the final broadcast of ECW, and it will hopefully give him the boost he needs into either RAW, or SmackDown.
Rating: 8
WWE Unified Tag Team Championships
ShoMiz
The WWE has done an absolutely fantastic job with this title, ever since Carlito and Primo lost it, from Jericho and Edge to JeriShow to DX to ShoMiz; they have elevated the titles to a high level, making the Tag Championships worthy of Main Event superstars, and have Main Evented Pay per Views, something unheard of in the WWE, I am intrigued with what’s going to happen next.
Rating: 7.5
This is my review of the WWE Championships, I hope you have enjoyed it.
