Can TNA thrive with Monday Nights?
February 13th 2010 08:36
This is my first entry on Wrestling Asylum, and Orble, I am a relative newcomer to the blogging world.
If TNA moves to Monday Night, two things could happen.
1. TNA thrives and go into a "war" with the top dog, Monday Night RAW.
2. TNA will lose money and viewers, and ill plummet, possibly losing TV Deals, sponsorship, wrestlers, staff, money and fans, leaving them bankrupt, or struggling.
Either way, it is a big risk, TNA as taken steps in the right direction, but more in the wrong direction. I personally feel that something needs to change, just like in 1999, the majority of viewers don't want to see Hogan and Bischoff talking, they want to see a mixture of good storylines, angles and interviews, with WRESTLING! They have been saying that they are real wrestling, but an iMPACT only a few weeks ago, had 16 minutes of wrestling, SIXTEEN! This is on a 2 hour show.
Something needs to change if they want success on Monday's, they need to focus on the wrestlers they already had, whilst introducing the new wrestlers, rather than putting Mr. Anderson out there and saying "Mr. Anderson's in TNA", ease him into the product, and give a reason for him to be wrestling people.
Continuity is also one of these problems, One week Kurt Angle wants to quit, the next week, he doesn't want to be fired. What is with that? Wrestling fans have the memory of a normal person, we do remember what has happened, don't insult us.
I believe that TNA can go head to head to with WWE, but not the way they are going at the moment. Everything needs to improve - Wrestling, Acting, Booking, Production, Commentary, Venues and so on.
Maybe going live is the way to go, maybe it isn't?
But in any situation, we, and TNA, won't know, unless they try.
But before they do, they need to improve their production, before we analyze anything else, the first thing we see is the production, whether it's the graphics, the camera quality, or sound quality that is the first thing to solve.
