My Thoughts
The final card of TNA's Against All Odds looks like an interesting one,one that if you removed the Nasty Boys and Team 3D chucked in an X Division Match wouldn't look half bad. I am very much looking forward to seeing Angle and Anderson, as well as Pope and Wolfe I think these two clashes are going to be the matches of the tournament in the first round. I am not yet fully sold on Abyss/Foley nor am I that keen on Hernandez/Morgan unless they manage to pull out a decent match between them which could possibly happen.
AJ Styles and Samoa Joe main evening the PPV with Bischoff and Flair entangled in this could be a rather interesting, messy affair, a mess that I would expect to see a bit of a surprise maybe a TNA return or even a debut, you never really know with TNA sometimes. If I was booking Abyss/Foley there is a chance there can be further adding to the storyline would be Raven, Stevie coming back into TNA they could attack Foley, or even Abyss and this could have one of them turn on the other.
A beat down would ensue and then someone would come down for the save, in theory if it was ever possible it would be a former ECW name, a name that was really aligned with Foley for a lot of his time there and then there would be a feud there. But I do think that there may be a screw job ending, either Foley causing this, or Abyss changing back into a monster that likes no one. I would like to see Abyss back to the silent monster instead of the insanely whiney monster, what's up with that anyway? He's gone from being tough, insane, to whiney, weak, and just annoying. So much so he's just a parody of what he once was, wait, is this the place where we chant fire Russo? Oh, moving on then.
I expect to see Desmond Wolfe get up over The Pope, as much as I like The Pope I think that right now they will continue on with the push of Wolfe and have him face "The Chosen One" Jef....Ken Anderson. Anderson. Hernandez would be my minor favourite to win this match, since TNA are looking to push him, they could start with a big win here and then maybe another big win to reach the final but lose to the eventual winner Ken Anderson, if they are going to persist with his handpicked by Hogan Jarrestt-esque angle there and could make the final, I'd still have Hardy if he is indeed ready to work with TNA come out during one of the main matches on this card.
AJ Styles should retain on this PPV too I do not see Joe entering Lockdown as the new TNA Champion, unless there was a bit of another screw job with either Sting's repelling from the rafters and getting involved because he hates the way AJ Styles is turning with Flair (hey it could happen!) Flair says he will be wrestling at some point, you have had Sting and Flair duke it out in the last,Styles was a bit of a protege of Sting's there so it does almost make sense that there was a tag team match or close to it eventually.
That is if Sting returns at Against All Odds, I would assume maybe they would use it for Lockdown, have him show up here and there around Flairs appearances. I like to put my own little booking hat on, and make up how I would do some of this and I am not sure how much of it are good ideas, but they are sort of different. Back to the PPv.
I want to ignore The Nasty Boys, every time I see them on this card I want to just predict this match will be dumped and something better will be booked. I have been hoping, hoping that maybe Sags ran into a chair from Hall, or was powerbombed through a glass table and was rendered unable to compete at the event. Or I hope that Hogan will wake up and say "you've got to go, you are just terrible in the ring and we do not want to see you again." wishful thinking, huh?
But if I have to pay attention and write my thoughts Team Du...3D will win this match and the fans will hope to god that someone never books it again, and if they even suggest it they are fired. Insert a fire Russo chant, or 30 and then we will move on.
This PPV has potential to be a very good PPV with the card put forward I have a lot of interest, clearly I still cannot get excited about seeing The Nasty Boys, remember when I said I would point out mistakes by TNA until someone listens from TNA? Well Dixie, if this match sucks as much as I believe it will you are going to get tweets from me suggesting you release these two hacks or make them House Show jobbers, at their age would they even care about winning a match? Give 'em a pay check and tell them they can go home.
Hell, the fact that people remember them should fill their hearts with glee the fact that watching them and Team 3D reminds me of a horror movie is it really that bad? Yes, it is. Don't worry this is on par with watching any Big Daddy V match throughout his WWE tenure. How someone booked them with a straight face has me baffled.
Wrestling Asylum will provide it's own review of the PPV, I will not post the blow by blow of the event, but I will posting my honest view of the PPV as I try to do every time I write down a blog here on WrestlingAsylum.
I will post a rundown of the PPV though, I will source it, and then I will write my review of how I think each match went. It's really not a bad card once you ignore the fact that The Nasty Geriatrics are still employed in a match. It could be much worse, someone could have booked Gene Snitsky vs Tomko for this one.
I went into rambling again, I do that when it is 3am, I hope that the PPV will be good, I will be able to not ramble on about TNA's little accidents, and we can all enjoy another blog.
