Wrestling Asylum - August 2010

TMZ.com has published the police report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office regarding former WWE performer Luna Vachon’s death. Among the details revealed in the report include:

* Authorities found a box containing Oxycodone in Luna’s kitchen. It was found near a pile of “blue, chalky debris next to a small straw.”

* There were “multiple prescription bottles and miscellaneous unsecured pills” in a bedroom.

* Also found was another small plate that contained more pill residue and another straw.

An autopsy was performed on Luna Vachon’s body over the weekend and the official cause of death will be released when the results are in for the toxicology exam that was performed during the autopsy.

TNA President Dixie Carter announced, via Twitter, that she had signed someone to a new TNA contract. Shortly after her Tweet, The Pope D'Angelo Dinero posted the following on his Twitter account: "Just heard the news. Now THAT....That's Cool!"

It should be noted that following this Tweet, D'Angelo then posted, "Whoa! Just got the "News" of Pope's earlier news. That was purely coincidental. For The Record, Pope has NO CLUE as to who was signed."

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the family of Luna Vachon is opting to hold a private funeral for the former WWE Diva. Therefore, no information will be released concerning funeral details.

Independent wrestler J.C. Bailey (a/k/a Joseph Carl Bailey) was found dead on Monday morning at age 27. The cause of death has not been revealed. The Combat Zone Wrestling site features a statement regarding Bailey's death.

WrestlingAsylum.com wishes to pass on it's condolences to the family, and friends of J.C Bailey, it is sad that we are now reporting yet another premature death in the wrestling business.

Anton Geesink, olympic gold medalist in Judo and early All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) star, passed away today in the Netherlands at age 76.

Giant Baba signed Geesink during the initial stages of his All Japan Pro Wrestling promotion, which would go on to wild succes later down the road. As a legitimate olympic gold medalist, Geesink drew large television audiences when his matches would air for the All Japan shows

Tough Tone Borne passes away

Anthony Osbourne, better known to wrestling fans as Tough Tony Borne, passed away this morning at his home. Osbourne was 83 years old at the time of his passing.

Borne is most recognized by today's generation as the father of Matt Borne, who infamously portrayed the original Doink The Clown character in WWE

Luna Vachon passes away

Former World Wrestling Entertainment star Gertrude "Luna" Vachon died Friday morning in Florida at age 48. The cause of death has not been determined.

"World Wrestling Entertainment has been made aware of the passing of Gertrude (Luna) Vachon. WWE extends its deepest condolences to the Vachon family," WWE said in a statement

According to PWInsider.com, WWE has just released Diva and Straight Edge Society member Serena. She just made her Smackdown in-ring debut this past Friday.

"Nightmare" Ted Allen, a legend in the Georgia wrestling community, was found dead today at the age of 54.

Allen was scheduled to wrestle on an event tonight in Phenix City, Alabama. Kyle Matthews, who was Allen's scheduled opponent and travel partner, became concerned when Allen was late in picking him up and went to his residence, where he and his girlfriend reportedly found Allen dead

Legendary pro wrestling manager and in-ring performer Jim Wheba, more famously known as General Skandor Akbar, passed away this past Thursday, August 19, at age 75.

Until recently, Wheba was still an active performer in the wrestling industry, working random independent shows as a wrestling manager in such markets as Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas

The premiere of one of Australia's premiere wrestling promotions AWF kicks off tonight on Aurora The Community Channel. The show is on Foxtel/Austar and it kicks off tonight at 7pm. It joins another Australian Wrestling promotion on there in IWA both are from Sydney.

The show will be replayed Saturdays at 5pm

Breaking News: WWE Diva Suspended

PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE Diva Tiffany (Taryn Terrell) has been suspended by WWE.

According to people within the company, there was a domestic incident earlier this week between her and husband Drew McIntyre at the hotel where WWE talent were staying in San Jose, CA. It got bad enough that police ended up being called. It's unknown at this point if Terrell was arrested

PWInsider.com is reporting that former WWE Superstar Lance McNaught (Lance Cade) has died at the age of 29. No details are known at this time.

McNaught was trained by Shawn Michaels and got his biggest WWE push in 2008 but suddenly ended up being released. Jim Ross later stated that "he made a major league mistake while utilizing bad judgment" and that it was instrumental to his departure. Ross referenced McNaught having a seizure on a plane and needing emergency medical care as a part of this
